Mission Statement
Tikvah L'Chaim – TLC - is an organization founded in 2003. We have been assisting the people of Tzfat (Safed) with Natural Complimentary Medicine treatments and orthomolecular medicines as well as art therapy and nutritional counseling. Treatments, nutritional advice, art therapy, seminars and classes are offered to the citizens of Tzfat and surrounding areas in the North of Israel to give the people tools to help themselves and to heal.
TLC provides the much needed natural treatments medicines for post traumatic stress, and art therapy supplies/classes to a growing number of children and adults. Many of the medicines are not available elsewhere in Israel or are not affordable. The complimentary medical services, which are not usually covered by kupat cholim’s (HMO's) in Tzfat or the surrounding Israeli communities, are provided by Tikvah L’Chaim- TLC. Therefore we need your help. Your generous donations will help the ongoing care needed.
TLC's classes in Quilting and After School Art are so much in need of subsidy. The City has recently cut back almost all after school programs.
Currently our focus is to help rebuild healthy lives from the devastation the Tzfat community has endured from the terrorist attacks in the summer of 2006. Those who were traumatized recently and were ill before the attacks require ongoing care. We also assist in recommending consultations with private specialist medical doctors and allied professionals which the kupat cholims may not cover in a timely lifesaving manner. We also provide transportation to specialists outside of Tzfat when the patient can not afford it. Our "Angels" abroad have donated art supplies, quilting supplies, to help start the healing. We need so much more! Please contact us to see how you can best help the people. TikvahLChaim@gmail.com
Tzfat endured 34 consecutive days of war, with over 700 ketyusha bombings in the Summer of 2006. A city already suffering economic hardships from the years of the Intifada, now has become the poorest town in Israel. During this past crisis in Tzfat, thousands of people were temporarily relocated to other parts of Israel. Many had to stay in hotels plus incurred additional expenses by being out of their own homes, putting all into deeper debt. The psychological and physical changes are quite apparent among the children and adults. We need your donations now more than ever!
